Workshop description:
The workshop offers the experience of art therapy as a space where the creative process opens possibilities for exploring emotions, personal resources, and inner balance. Through practical exercises, participants will be able to try simple art therapy protocols and personally experience how creation can serve as a form of regulation, relief, and resilience-building. No artistic background or drawing skills are required, as the focus is not on artistic ability but on personal experience and process.
The workshop will be based on two art therapy protocols. The Scribble protocol, which involves free drawing and later transforming lines into recognizable shapes, allows participants to experience the process in which new structures emerge from initial chaos. The exercise includes working with the dominant, non-dominant, and both hands, providing insight into flexibility, adaptation, and the potential for arriving at different creative solutions and perspectives.
A special part of the workshop is the group activity called Marketplace of Virtues, enabling participants to creatively recognize and share personal qualities through interaction. This opens a space for raising awareness of one’s own resources, as well as what we value and appreciate in others, while strengthening team cohesion.
The workshop is intended for physicians who wish to experience art therapy in a safe and supportive environment as a way to focus on their own emotions, resilience, and personal resources. At the same time, it demonstrates how creative methods can contribute to understanding processes of learning, adaptation, and recovery – key aspects of neurorehabilitation.
